This is just one view of the store at the moment... all the beautiful honey tones and the antique Chinese herb cabinet is such a stunning shade of red.

Antique Japanese merchants cabinet - love the Japanese hardware and the rusty old cast iron fish.

I was very happy when I found this old Japanese suitcase, it is in great condition - even the inside is pretty special.

Now you can see the amazing old Japanese tea chests.  I was excited about finding these as I have not seen a true tea chest since I was a child.  They are both lined with tin and how about the labels on the side.  

ES Traders on a dark rainy day

How about this rain?  The up side though is that ES Traders looks its most magical when the days are gloomy and dark. Like a fairy land. These photos are taken from our storage mezzanine. A totally different look at the shop.

Meet the girls

I don't know how he does it but Stuart finds the most amazing things for the shop. You'll know how rare it is to come across vintage cloth mannequins especially on wooden bases. Ones with just the right amount of age but not too tatty. Meet Stuart's harem of beauties. Have you ever seen so many in one spot?

Mass produced mirrors are everywhere but it's only when you see the real thing that you can begin to understand how exquisite the hand crafted piece can be. Custom gilded frames, handbuilt mirrors, beautifully archival framed antique prints.

New in store

Don't you just love galvanised tin? Industrial on one hand and country chic on the other. Just in store a stylishly useful (as if you'd need an excuse to buy them) tin range. Trays to die for. These are HUGE! Tins of all types. Milk churns and a cute string dispenser. Great Christmas presents in themselves or fill the tins with goodies. I can see the trays laden with food as part of your Christmas buffet. One customer even suggested filled with a bed of ice and piled with prawns. I love that idea.

Beautiful unique pieces for your home. Chinese, Tibetan, Korean. Stunning orange Chinese Dongbai or altar table. Tibetan cupboard with intricate handpainted Buddhas. Lacquer wedding armoires. Beautiful Korean cupboard with white bronze accents ... wood glows, so beautiful, gold lacquer cabinet,  Tibetan doors. We only choose pieces that we love.

Nothing stays the same

That's the best part. I find the most wonderful pieces from overseas and closer to home, pop them in the shop, merchandise and before we can stand back and admire our work they have walked out the door with their new owner. Thought you'd like to see the changes in store over the past few weeks.
