These are a few of my favourite things .....

Couldn't wait to post a few more things.  Here is one of the Chinese antique pieces that came in.  I really love the raw simplicity and the three wafer thin celadon bowls on top are another one of my favourite things.

An assortment of old Chinese calligraphy brushes - bone, jade, carnelian and other semi precious gemstones.

Where Have I Been ?

I've been off sourcing new stock for the store. We have some beautiful new additions ...  more French and Chinese antiques, some very quirky art pieces and finally antique Japanese cabinets and kimono chests we have been longing to have in here.

This piece is truly unique, from France.    I've taken more photos and will be adding them to the blog in the coming week.

ES Traders on a dark rainy day

How about this rain?  The up side though is that ES Traders looks its most magical when the days are gloomy and dark. Like a fairy land. These photos are taken from our storage mezzanine. A totally different look at the shop.

Copper

The shop is glowing with the golden sheen of old European and Turkish copper. The patina is amazing. Kettles, coffee pots, jugs. Beautiful for your kitchen styling.

Dough troughs and old baskets

More from our secret French source. Huge cane baskets. One is sold already. Straight into the shop. Straight out remember. But even more exciting, if that is possible are these old dough troughs. Look at the size of them. You can see the marks made as they were hand carved but what I love more is that you can see how they have worn down over the years. They are even patched with old pieces of zinc. Imagine these in the middle of a large farmhouse table piled high with apples or oranges. These definitely won't last long so email or come in soon.

Down at the bottom of the garden

Actually right at the front of the shop. Vintage zinc watering cans and old buckets made from tins. So many exciting things in store at the moment.
